As discussed earlier this fall, SCGC and WGI are teaming up for a joint event! On March 6, Green Hill High School will host a WGI Winds Regional combined with an SCGC Percussion Contest.
The Winds Regional will feature:
- Two performances (Prelims and Finals)
- Full WGI judging panels
- Critique
A student clinic between the two performances
Although the Percussion portion will be organized by SCGC, Ted Mascari, Judge Coordinator, has put together a top-notch judging panel for that event as well. The format of Prelim/finals will take place if time allows, will include an extended critique and possible clinic for students
Registration will be handled separately:
Percussion groups: Register with SCGC through Competition Suite.
Winds groups: Register directly with WGI.
And here's an added bonus! WGI will waive the contest registration fee for any Winds group attending its first WGI Regional. This is a great opportunity for groups who have never participated in a WGI Regional to experience everything WGI has to offer without the additional registration cost. Here’s the link to register.
